The most delightful and lovely perennial flower nursery garden lies just a short drive from Pueblo that can also become a wonderful morning outing.  I was so surprisingly astounded when I arrived at Nancy’s to find this charming place.  Nancy’s Country Garden & Nursery is located on a little over an acre of property and is filled with wild masses of perennial flowers of all kinds in a variety of different beds located along winding pathways.  Each flower bed is filled with different types of perennials from which Nancy offers potted plants and flower bouquets for sale.

She has over 40 varieties including:  coreopsis, rocky mountain penstemon, delphiniums, yarrow, zinnia, black eyed susans, heliopsis, and gladiolas.

The uniqueness of Nancy’s Country Garden is that all her plants are grown outdoors – even her starts.  This helps all the plants, even the non-natives, to adapt to the local environment so they are hardy and much more likely to thrive in local landscapes.  She cares for all her plants in the most natural way possible.

The gardens open as you arrive and begin strolling the pathways.  Nancy created all the beds herself.  Each one is filled with different flowering perennials that she then uses to create beautiful bouquets for sale.  She also includes herbs and flowering garlic for a unique look.  With over 40 varieties, there are always different plants flowering.  Each bed also has an artistic look with archways, benches and garden art decorating the outdoor nursery.  It is such a lovely and peaceful place that you just naturally want to stay and wander around.

Nancy’s creativity and flare is apparent in every flower bed and bouquet that she arranges.

One of my favorites are her old antique ammo boxes that are filled with a variety of succulents – truly original!

Nancy’s Country Garden began as a career change from the corporate world 3 years ago and has evolved into a uniquely beautiful outdoor nursery specializing in flowering perennials. It is unlike any other nursery garden.  She creates a variety of flower arrangements of all sizes reminiscent of summer charm.  You can purchase bouquets of any size to order at very reasonable prices that are unlike any you could purchase at other nurseries or online sites.  They are all fresh cut from her gardens.  You can also purchase perennials to plant in your landscape.  She is also willing to create starters from seeds of your choice.  The cool morning hours are the best time to visit, but Nancy is also available by appointment through text/call at 719.369.5332.  You can also find her on Facebook.  Nancy is also at the Pueblo Farmers Market on Fridays at Mineral Palace Park.

The Country Garden is located at 1790 27th Lane and she encourages everyone to simply come out to visit, wander, sit and sip your coffee while you relax and enjoy the scenery.
